You can't deny the importance of a name. When people find out that a woman is pregnant, she gets asked if she's having a boy or girl. The very next question is what's his or her name? Name choice is a pretty major decision.
Why is that? What's in a name?
As our world is experiencing so much unrest and uncertainty, I have been focusing on what it means to have personal reset. Part of resetting yourself is to respond differently. One thing God has been speaking is that people are often responding to names He did not call them. These are some of the names people respond to that God did not call us:
God took me back to the story of Abraham in Genesis 17. God said Abram, "Whats more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations. I will make you extremely fruitful." NAME CHANGE! God changed Abram's name to Abraham to reflect the promise over his life. Sarai's, Abram's wife's, name was changed to Sarah. The meaning of her name went from princess to princess of many people. Again, God named her for the promise and where she was headed.
What God calls you is important. He calls you based on who He knows you are and where He is sending you. In this time of #reset2020, make it your goal to respond in life from a revelation of the promises over your life and where God is taking you. To do that you must:
What name(s) are you responding to?

This post came across my timeline the other day that said, "Can someone put 2020 on reset?" 2020 has definitely had some major global impacts. It started off with the shocking death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and their precious friends who were on that fateful helicopter with them. That shook me because of the shock and gravity of the situation. It was then that I began to think about some changes I needed to make. After Kobe's public memorial at the end of February, our world quickly started to shift as a result of COVID-19 and that is the reason for people wanting to reset 2020.
As I sat thinking about how many of us are wishing we could reset 2020, God broke into my thought process (as He often does) and said, "Nicole, I want you to take this opportunity to do a personal reset". A personal reset? Here's what I walked away with from this conversation with God.
We may not be able to reset 2020 but because of the unique set of circumstances we find ourselves in we have an opportunity to do a personal #RESET2020. What does it mean to do a reset? I decided to dig into the actual meaning of the word reset a little deeper.
RESET: "to set again", "to set, adjust, or fix in a new or different way," "a plant that is replanted"
SET: "to put something or someone in a particular place," "to place in a particular position or posture," "to put in the proper position," "to put in the proper or desired order or condition for use".
So, when you are saying you want a 2020 RESET, you are putting yourself in a posture to receive from God. You are putting yourselves in a desired order or condition to be used by God. This process requires that you ask yourself a few questions:
